The MERIT ABRASIVES 08834166275 is a 3-inch quick-change abrasive disc designed for surface conditioning, blending, and moderate material removal on a wide range of metals and composites. Built on a flexible polyester and nylon web backing, the disc uses aluminum oxide grain bonded with Clean Bond resin technology to deliver smear-free finishes without loading or glazing. The coarse grade provides aggressive cutting action while the high-loft nylon fiber construction extends disc life compared to standard non-woven designs. Rated to 20,000 RPM, it mounts via a Power-Lock Type 1 (Type P) quick-change attaching system for fast, tool-free disc changes during production work.
This disc is suited for blending weld seams, removing light scale, and surface prep on 300 and 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, super alloys, titanium, and fiberglass or composite materials. It is intended for use with die grinders, inline grinders, straight grinders, and handheld disc sanders. Typical applications include aerospace fabrication, metal finishing shops, and general industrial maintenance where a consistent non-woven surface finish is required. Each package contains one disc, making it practical to stock in quantities matched to job volume.
Compatible with quick-change tools using a TP (Type I) Power-Lock attaching system, including die grinders, inline grinders, straight grinders, and handheld disc sanders. Suitable for use on 300 Series Stainless, 400 Series Stainless, Fiberglass and Composites, Hard Carbon Steels, Soft Carbon Steels, Super Alloys, Titanium, and Tool Steels.
Install and remove this disc only with the tool powered off and disconnected from its air or electrical supply. Verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 20,000 RPM disc rating before operation. Inspect the disc for tears or delamination before each use and replace immediately if damage is found. Always wear appropriate eye and face protection when operating abrasive discs.
