The MERIT ABRASIVES 08834166273 is a 2-inch quick-change disc designed for surface conditioning, blending, and finishing on a wide range of metals and composites. Built on a polyester and nylon web backing, it uses aluminum oxide abrasive grain with Clean Bond resin technology to deliver smear-free finishes and a higher cut rate than standard non-woven discs. The high-loft nylon fiber construction extends disc life under repeated use. Rated to 30,000 RPM, it attaches via a Type P power-lock system and is suited for licensed fabricators, maintenance technicians, and industrial tradespeople working with grinders and sanders in production or field environments.
This disc is designed for use on 300 series stainless steel, 400 series stainless steel, fiberglass and composites, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, and tool steels. Compatible machines include die grinders, handheld disc sanders, inline grinders, and straight grinders. The very fine grade makes it appropriate for finish work, light deburring, and surface preparation where controlled material removal is required without heavy stock removal.
Compatible with die grinders, handheld disc sanders, inline grinders, and straight grinders equipped with a Type P power-lock quick-change arbor. Suitable for use on 300 and 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, super alloys, titanium, and fiberglass and composite materials.
Installation and disc changes should be performed by qualified personnel with the tool powered off and disconnected from its air or electrical supply. Verify that the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 30,000 RPM rating marked on the disc before mounting. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and discard any disc that shows tears, delamination, or deformation. Follow applicable ANSI B7 abrasive safety standards and the tool manufacturer guidelines for maximum operating speed and guard requirements.
