The MERIT ABRASIVES 08834137582 is a mounted flap wheel designed for precision surface finishing, deburring, and blending on metal and similar workpiece materials. Built with aluminum oxide coated abrasive on a cloth backing, it delivers consistent cutting action across its 0.75-inch diameter and 0.625-inch face width. Rated to a maximum of 35,000 RPM, this wheel is suited for use in die grinders and rotary tools where controlled material removal at fine grit levels is required. A 0.125-inch shank mounts directly into standard collet chucks. Machinists, fabricators, and tool-and-die technicians use this wheel for finishing internal bores, contoured surfaces, and tight-access areas where flat abrasive media cannot reach.
This mounted flap wheel is appropriate for light-duty precision work in job shop, maintenance, and production environments. Its fine 120-grit aluminum oxide abrasive is well suited for final-pass deburring, surface blending, and finish preparation on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The cloth backing provides flexibility, allowing the flap tips to conform slightly to the workpiece surface. It is sized for applications where a small-diameter mounted tool is required and where consistent finish quality at high rotational speeds is the priority.
Designed for use with die grinders, rotary tools, and similar equipment fitted with a 0.125-inch collet or chuck accepting a standard shank-mount abrasive wheel.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or fabricator familiar with rotary abrasive tooling. Always confirm the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 35,000 RPM maximum rating marked on this wheel before mounting. Secure the shank fully into the collet and tighten to the tool specification before operation. Wear appropriate eye and face protection per ANSI B11 and OSHA abrasive wheel standards when operating mounted flap wheels.
