The MECHANIX WEAR SMP-FX72-010 is a cut-, puncture-, and abrasion-resistant work glove rated ANSI/ISEA Cut Level A4 and Puncture Level 5, designed for trade professionals who work around sharp materials, sheet metal, glass, wire, or other hazardous surfaces. The glove features a synthetic leather back, an HPPE seamless lining, and thermoplastic rubber (TPR) protection at the pinch-point fingertips. The palm is reinforced and padded, with an Armortex grip surface. Built for a size Large fit, the pair weighs 0.45 pounds and carries an EN 388 rating of 2X43DP. A licensed HVAC tech, plumber, electrician, or industrial service pro would reach for these in high-cut-risk environments where dexterity still matters.
The SMP-FX72-010 suits residential and commercial service work where sharp edges are a routine hazard — ductwork fabrication, conduit handling, pipe fitting, or wire pulling. The open cuff style allows fast donning and removal, and nylon carrier loops allow convenient storage on a tool belt or bag. The glove is machine washable, making it practical for repeated daily use on the job site. It is rated for both men and women, with a men's Large corresponding to a women's Medium sizing.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-purchase protective glove compatible with size Large hand sizing across unisex trade and industrial applications meeting EN13594 and ANSI 138 standards.
Protective gloves of this type are worn by licensed tradespeople including electricians, HVAC technicians, plumbers, and general construction workers when handling sharp or abrasive materials. Inspect gloves before each use for tears, worn stitching, or compromised TPR sections. Always don gloves before handling sheet metal, conduit, wire bundles, or pipe edges. Follow applicable OSHA hand protection requirements and employer PPE programs when selecting and deploying cut-resistant gloves on the job site.
