The MCR Safety 4960M is a medium-sized leather welding glove designed for professional welders and fabricators who need durable hand protection with reliable grip and dexterity. The palm and forefinger are constructed from premium top grain cowhide, delivering a balance of feel and long-term wear resistance. A top grain cowhide drag patch reinforces the highest-stress contact zones. The entire glove is sewn with DuPont Kevlar thread for heat and cut-resistant seam integrity. At 0.47 pounds per pair, these unlined gloves keep hand fatigue low during extended work.
The 4960M suits MIG, TIG-adjacent, and light stick welding operations in residential, commercial, and light industrial settings. The wing thumb design reduces seam irritation in a common grip position, and the 4-inch brown split cowhide cuff provides wrist and lower forearm protection from spatter and radiant heat. These gloves are sold as a pair and are appropriate for welding shops, pipefitters, ironworkers, and general fabrication environments where a flexible yet protective glove is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-issue welding glove suitable for general welding and fabrication applications requiring leather hand protection.
Welding gloves should be inspected before each use for cuts, burns, or seam failures that compromise protection. Ensure gloves are fully dry before use near open arc or flame sources. Replace immediately if the leather shows significant charring, stiffening, or seam separation. Selection and use of PPE should comply with applicable OSHA 29 CFR 1910.138 and employer hazard assessments.
