The MCR Safety 4956XL is a grain leather MIG/TIG welding glove designed for low-heat welding applications that demand dexterity and hand protection. The palm and index finger are constructed from grain cowhide leather, while the split leather back and 4.5-inch split cowhide cuff provide coverage and added safety at the wrist. A 100-gram Thinsulate lining delivers warmth and secondary thermal protection. All seams are sewn with Kevlar thread to resist spark damage and abrasion from sharp metals, extending the service life of the glove compared to standard thread construction.
These gloves are suited for MIG and TIG welding tasks in fabrication shops, maintenance environments, and light industrial settings where a high degree of hand movement is needed. The gunn-pattern construction and welted seams support grip and longevity during repetitive welding passes. They are sold by the pair and sized at X-Large. Installation or use is appropriate for certified welders and trade professionals performing low-heat arc welding operations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit welding glove for MIG and TIG welding applications requiring low-heat protection and enhanced dexterity.
Welding gloves should be inspected before each use for burns, tears, or compromised seams. Power down welding equipment before donning or removing gloves. Do not use gloves that show visible damage, as compromised material reduces arc and heat protection. Consult applicable workplace safety standards and applicable codes before use in regulated environments.
