The MCR Safety 4956M is a leather welding glove built for MIG and TIG welding applications requiring dexterity and reliable hand protection. Constructed with a grain cowhide leather palm and index finger, a split leather back, and a 4.5-inch split cowhide cuff, the glove provides layered coverage across high-exposure areas. A 100-gram Thinsulate liner adds warmth and secondary protection without significantly bulking the glove. All seams are sewn with Kevlar thread, which resists spark damage and fraying from contact with sharp metals. The gunn pattern and welted seams further reinforce the construction for extended service life. This glove is sold in pairs and sized for medium hands.
The 4956M is suited for low-heat welding tasks where maintaining hand sensitivity and control is a priority. MIG and TIG welding both demand precise torch or gun handling, and the grain leather palm supports a firm, controlled grip without sacrificing feel. The Thinsulate lining makes this glove appropriate for use in cooler shop environments or seasonal outdoor work. Welders, fabricators, and metal trades workers in light-to-moderate welding operations will find the construction practical for daily wear. The glove is sold as a pair with a minimum order quantity of 12 pairs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-issue welding glove for MIG and TIG welding operations in light-to-moderate heat environments.
Welding gloves should be inspected before each use for burns, holes, or compromised seams that reduce protection. Ensure the cuff fully covers the wrist before beginning any welding operation. Follow applicable workplace safety standards and employer PPE requirements when selecting glove grade for the specific welding process. Do not use damaged gloves on live welding tasks.
