The MCR Safety 4954XL is a leather welding glove engineered for MIG and TIG welding applications where low-heat work demands dexterity without sacrificing hand protection. The palm and index finger are constructed from grain cow leather, while the back uses split leather for flexibility. A 4.5-inch split leather cuff extends protection up the wrist. Seams are sewn with Kevlar thread to resist spark and cut damage that can unravel lesser gloves. An 8-ounce jersey palm lining adds comfort during extended wear. The double leather palm layer reinforces the highest-wear zone.
These gloves are suited for professional welders performing MIG and TIG work in fabrication shops, manufacturing facilities, and light industrial environments. The gunn pattern construction and wing thumb design support natural hand positioning, making them a practical choice for welders who need precise control during detail work. Sold in pairs. Minimum order quantity is 12 pairs. Note: sold in Canada only per manufacturer distribution terms.
Designed for MIG and TIG welding tasks requiring moderate heat protection and enhanced dexterity. Compatible with standard welding PPE programs in light industrial and fabrication environments.
Welding gloves should be inspected before each use for cuts, burn-through, or seam separation. Replace immediately if the leather shows charring or the Kevlar stitching is compromised. Gloves should be sized correctly to prevent bunching, which can reduce grip and dexterity at the torch. Follow applicable workplace safety standards and ANSI PPE guidelines when selecting hand protection for welding tasks.
