The MCR Safety 4954M is a leather welding glove built for MIG and TIG applications that require close control and careful bead placement. The palm and index finger are constructed from grain cowhide leather, while the back is split leather — a combination that balances grip and durability. A 4.5-inch split leather cuff extends wrist protection beyond the glove body. Seams are sewn with Kevlar thread to resist spark damage and sharp metal edges that cause standard thread to unravel. The result is a glove suited for low-heat welding tasks where dexterity matters as much as protection.
The 4954M is designed for professional welders and fabricators performing MIG and TIG work in shop or field environments. The gunn pattern and wing thumb construction allow natural hand positioning during detail welding passes. An 8-ounce jersey palm lining adds comfort during extended wear. A double leather palm layer provides additional wear resistance at the highest-contact zone. This glove is sold and distributed in pairs and fits a medium hand size.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-issue welding glove for MIG and TIG welding applications in residential, commercial, and industrial fabrication settings.
These gloves are worn PPE and do not require installation. Welders should inspect gloves before each use for burn-through, seam separation, or leather hardening that reduces dexterity. Replace immediately if the palm leather shows heat damage or if Kevlar stitching has begun to fray. Follow applicable workplace safety standards and employer PPE policies when selecting glove protection levels for specific welding processes.
