The MCR Safety 4892L is a large-size leather welding and drivers glove built for hands-on trade work where grip, heat exposure, and repetitive wear are daily realities. The palm and forefinger are cut from premium top grain goatskin, a hide known for its natural lanolin content, high tensile strength, and above-average tactile sensitivity. The back is split cow leather, and all seams are sewn with DuPont Kevlar thread for added stitch durability. A padded palm and top grain drag patch reinforce the highest-wear zones, and a 10-inch cow leather cuff with an adjustable FR strap secures the fit. Overall glove length is 18 inches. Sold as a pair.
The 4892L is suited for welding, fabrication, and general industrial applications where a combination of dexterity and flame-resistant construction is required. The goatskin palm delivers flexibility that cowhide alone cannot match, making it a practical choice for MIG and TIG-adjacent tasks, rigging, and light torch work. The adjustable FR strap at the cuff lets technicians dial in fit over different sleeve thicknesses, which is useful in both shop and field environments. This glove is a standard selection for welders, ironworkers, and industrial maintenance trades.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-issue drivers and welding glove for large-hand users in welding, fabrication, and general industrial trades.
Inspect gloves before each use for burns, cuts, or compromised seams. Do not use gloves that show signs of damage in the palm, cuff, or stitching. Follow applicable OSHA and ANSI hand-protection guidelines for the specific welding process in use. Store away from direct heat sources and petroleum-based solvents that degrade leather.
