The MCR SAFETY 4853XL is a premium TIG welding glove built for professionals who need heat protection without losing the dexterity to control a tungsten rod. Constructed from top grain goatskin, the hide retains natural lanolin for lasting softness and flexibility through extended wear. The glove features a 2-finger mitt design lined with Kevlar felt, double-stitched with Kevlar thread throughout, and a 4-inch split cowhide cuff for wrist and forearm protection. The ring and pinky fingers receive triple-layer protection: a layer of cow split leather, goat grain leather, and Kevlar felt combined. Sold as a pair and sized X-Large.
This glove is designed for TIG welding applications where fine rod manipulation is required. The 2-finger mitt allows the index finger and thumb to move independently while shielding the remaining fingers from heat and spatter. It is well suited for sheet metal fabrication shops, pipe welding, and precision weld work in both industrial and light commercial settings. Any licensed welder or fabricator who runs TIG on stainless, aluminum, or carbon steel will find the construction appropriate for that workflow.
Designed as an OEM-style TIG welding glove suitable for general TIG and precision welding applications requiring enhanced dexterity and multi-layer heat protection.
Welding gloves should be inspected before each use for burns, tears, or degraded stitching. Replace immediately if the Kevlar lining shows damage or if seams have separated. Always ensure the welding machine is set to the correct process and amperage before beginning work, and verify the cuff fully covers the wrist to prevent arc flash or spatter contact.
