The MCR Safety 4853S is a premium TIG welding glove built for licensed welders and trade professionals who need dexterity without sacrificing hand protection. Part of the Mustang family, this glove features a top grain goatskin palm and fingers, which delivers natural softness due to the lanolin content in the hide. The enhanced 2-finger mitt design is lined with Kevlar felt for added heat resistance, and all seams are double stitched with Kevlar thread to resist burn-through and tear-out. The glove ships as a pair and is sized Small.
The 4853S is designed for TIG welding applications where finger sensitivity is critical for manipulating the tungsten rod. The 2-finger mitt configuration gives the welder control over the electrode while the Kevlar lining absorbs heat. The ring finger and pinky finger receive triple-layer protection: a base of cow split leather, a layer of top grain goatskin, and an inner Kevlar felt lining. A 4-inch split cowhide cuff protects the wrist and lower forearm from spatter and heat exposure. Sold in pairs, minimum order quantity is 12 pairs.
Designed as an OEM-style TIG welding glove suitable for professional and light industrial welding environments where finger dexterity and heat resistance are both required.
Inspect gloves before each use for signs of burn-through, worn seams, or compromised leather. Always power down welding equipment before handling the torch or electrode. Gloves should be replaced when stitching shows fraying or when the leather has thinned from heat exposure. Proper PPE selection should follow applicable ANSI and AWS safety standards for the welding process in use.
