The MCR SAFETY 48406KL is a large welding glove built for MIG and TIG welding applications. The palm is constructed from premium top-grain goatskin leather, which retains natural lanolin for a supple feel and delivers strong tensile strength alongside reliable tactile sensitivity. A Kevlar lining provides added heat and cut protection, while Kevlar thread reinforces the seams throughout. A 5-inch russet split cowhide cuff extends protection up the wrist. The thermoplastic rubber (TPR) panel on the back of the hand adds impact resistance across the fingers and hand dorsum. Licensed tradespeople in welding, fabrication, and industrial maintenance are the primary installers and users of this glove.
These gloves are designed for professional welders working in both residential and commercial fabrication environments. The keystone thumb construction reduces hand fatigue during extended MIG and TIG welding sessions. The self-hem sewn cuff provides a clean, durable edge. The combination of goatskin flexibility and Kevlar heat resistance makes this glove well suited for overhead and close-tolerance welding work where dexterity and protection must be balanced.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-issue welding glove for large-handed professionals performing MIG and TIG welding operations.
Welding gloves should be inspected before each use for burns, cuts, or seam failures that compromise protection. Ensure the glove cuff fully covers the wrist and lower forearm before beginning any arc welding operation. Replace immediately if the Kevlar lining shows visible degradation or if the leather becomes cracked or stiff. Follow applicable ANSI and OSHA hand protection standards when selecting gloves for specific welding processes.
