The MCR SAFETY 39100XL is a flame-resistant fabric welding cape sleeve designed to protect the arms and shoulders of welders and fabricators during arc, MIG, TIG, and stick welding operations. The cape sleeve style provides extended coverage over the upper arms and across the upper back and chest, shielding areas left exposed by a standard welding jacket or apron. It is sized for XL wearers and is intended for use in industrial, fabrication shop, and light manufacturing environments where spatter, sparks, and radiant heat are everyday hazards. Welders, pipefitters, and ironworkers are the primary installers and end users of this PPE.
This cape sleeve is suited for residential and commercial welding applications including structural fabrication, pipe welding, and general metalwork. The FR fabric construction makes it appropriate for environments subject to NFPA 70E or OSHA 29 CFR 1910.252 welding safety requirements. It is worn over standard work clothing to add arc and flame protection without the bulk of a full jacket, making it a practical choice for warm environments or overhead work where full-sleeve coverage is still required.
Designed as an OEM-style FR welding cape sleeve suitable for use in standard industrial and fabrication welding applications requiring upper-arm and shoulder protection.
Cape sleeves are donned by welding professionals before beginning any welding or cutting operation. Ensure the cape sleeve is fully secured and covers all exposed skin on the arms and shoulders before striking an arc. Inspect the garment before each use for burns, tears, or contamination that could compromise its FR performance. Damaged FR garments should be removed from service immediately and replaced.
