The MCDONNELL MILLER 115600 is a high sensitivity flow switch designed to detect liquid flow in hydronic cooling and water treatment piping systems. It features a brass housing rated to 100 psi and covers a flow detection range of 0.12 to 2.5 GPM with a set point of 2.5 GPM. The threaded NPT connection makes it straightforward to install inline without special fittings. At 5 inches in overall length and 4.5 pounds, it is a compact, durable unit suited for commercial and light industrial applications. HVAC technicians and plumbers install this switch to provide flow proving signals that protect equipment from running dry or without adequate flow.
The 115600 is rated for use in cooling systems and water treatment systems where liquid flow monitoring is required. Shut off system pressure and fully drain the affected piping section before cutting in the switch. Use thread sealant rated for the system fluid on all NPT connections and verify no leaks before restoring pressure. The NEMA 1 rating limits installation to dry, indoor locations only — do not install in wet or outdoor environments.
