The MAZE NAILS S257S530 is a hot-dipped galvanized hardboard siding nail engineered for professional exterior siding installation. Measuring 2.5 inches in length and produced in 12-gauge wire stock, this nail is manufactured from extra-stiff stock so it drives cleanly through two thicknesses of hardboard siding without bending or deflecting. The head is sized at 3/16 inches and is designed to drive flush to the siding surface for a clean finish. Double-dipped in molten zinc, the coating delivers corrosion resistance suited to exposed exterior applications. Each box contains 730 nails at a net weight of approximately 5 pounds.
These nails are intended for attaching hardboard lap siding, panel siding, and similar fiber-based composite siding products to wood-framed residential and light commercial structures. The spiral shank profile increases withdrawal resistance compared to smooth-shank fasteners, which is especially important in high-wind zones or where siding panels are subject to thermal movement. The S257S530 is recommended by hardboard siding producers and is well-suited for use in production framing, remodel siding work, and repair applications where a contractor-grade galvanized fastener is required.
Designed for use with hardboard lap and panel siding products in residential and light commercial wood-frame construction. Recommended by hardboard siding producers for fastening fiber-based composite siding to wood framing members.
Siding nails of this type are installed by finish carpenters, siding contractors, and general framing crews using a standard framing or siding hammer or a compatible pneumatic nailer. Follow the siding manufacturer's nailing schedule for fastener spacing and edge distance. Ensure fasteners penetrate through sheathing and into structural framing members to achieve the specified withdrawal resistance. Always observe applicable building codes for exterior cladding attachment in the local wind and weather zone.
