The MAZE NAILS H63S112 is a hardened steel fluted masonry nail designed for anchoring wood framing components directly to concrete, block, and masonry substrates. At 3.5 inches in length and 9 gauge in diameter, with a 5/16-inch head, this 16d nail delivers the shank strength needed to hold furring strips, floor plates, and partition walls securely against hard masonry surfaces. The fluted shank profile increases pullout resistance once the nail is driven. Each box contains 41 nails and weighs 1 pound, making it a practical per-job quantity for framing contractors and finish carpenters working on masonry anchoring tasks.
This nail is suited for residential and light commercial applications where wood members must be attached to poured concrete walls, concrete masonry units, or block foundations. Typical uses include securing bottom plates in basement partition builds, attaching furring strips to masonry walls before drywall installation, and anchoring floor plates in slab-on-grade construction. The hardened steel construction allows the nail to penetrate dense masonry without deforming under hammer impact.
Designed for use in concrete, poured masonry, and concrete masonry unit (CMU) block applications for fastening dimensional lumber furring strips, floor plates, and partition wall framing components.
Masonry nails should be driven by a qualified framing carpenter or general contractor using a steel-faced hammer appropriate for hardened fasteners. Always drive nails a minimum of 3 inches from the edge of masonry or block to reduce the risk of cracking, and ensure a minimum of 3/4 inches of penetration into the base material. Safety glasses are required when driving hardened nails, as spalling and nail fragments can occur. Do not use a powder-actuated tool or pneumatic nailer unless the tool and fastener are specifically rated for this application.
