The MAZE NAILS H57S112 is a hardened steel fluted masonry nail designed for mechanically fastening wood members directly to concrete, block, and masonry substrates. At 2 inches in length with a 9-gauge shank and a 5/16-inch head, this 6d nail delivers the holding strength needed for high-resistance applications. The fluted shank increases friction and pull-out resistance compared to smooth-shank alternatives. Each box contains approximately 95 nails weighing 1 pound, making it a practical unit for job-site use. Hardened steel construction is required for driving into masonry without bending or shattering the fastener.
These nails are suited for attaching furring strips, floor plates, and partition wall bottom plates to concrete slabs or block walls in both residential and light commercial construction. They are commonly used by framing carpenters and general contractors during rough-in phases where powder-actuated tools are not available or preferred. A standard hammer and hand-driving technique apply. Safety glasses are always required when driving hardened nails due to the risk of fragment ejection.
Designed for use in concrete, block, and masonry substrates as an OEM-style fastener for wood-to-masonry attachment applications including furring strips, floor plates, and partition wall bottom plates.
Drive nails a minimum of 3 inches from the edge of any masonry or block to reduce the risk of cracking or spalling the substrate. Minimum penetration into masonry should be at least 3/4 inch for adequate holding strength. Always wear safety glasses when driving hardened nails, as fragments can eject at high velocity. This fastener is installed by carpenters, framers, or general contractors using a standard framing or masonry hammer.
