The MAZE NAILS H55S112 is a hardened steel fluted masonry nail designed for anchoring wood members directly to concrete, block, and masonry surfaces. At 4d x 1.5 inches with a 9-gauge shank diameter, this nail delivers the shank strength needed to penetrate hard substrates without bending. The fluted shank increases grip after seating, resisting pullout in demanding fastening applications. Each box contains 129 nails weighing approximately 1 pound, making it a practical unit for job-site use. Licensed carpenters, framing crews, and general contractors reach for masonry nails when powder-actuated tools or anchors are not required.
This nail is suited for fastening furring strips, floor plates, and partition wall bottom plates to concrete slabs or masonry block walls. The 5/16-inch head diameter provides solid bearing surface for wood members. Common applications include basement finishing, light commercial framing, and retrofit partition work where the base material is poured concrete or CMU block. Drive nails 3 inches or more from the edge of masonry or block and allow a minimum of 3/4 inch of penetration into the base material for adequate holding strength.
Designed for use in poured concrete, concrete masonry unit block, and similar hard masonry substrates where direct nail fastening of wood furring strips, floor plates, and partition walls is required.
Masonry nails should be driven by a qualified carpenter or framing technician using a hammer rated for hardened fasteners. Always wear ANSI-rated safety glasses when driving hardened masonry nails, as spalling or nail fragments can occur. Drive each nail a minimum of 3 inches from any edge of the masonry or block to prevent cracking the substrate. Do not attempt to redrive a bent hardened nail — replace it with a new fastener to maintain holding integrity.
