The MAZE NAILS H54S530 is a hardened steel fluted masonry nail designed for mechanical fastening into concrete, block, and masonry substrates. At 3d x 1-1/4 inches in length and 9 gauge in diameter, these nails feature a fluted shank that bites into masonry to resist pullout. The 5/16-inch head provides positive bearing surface for securing furring strips, floor plates, and partition wall bottom plates. Each box contains approximately 750 nails and weighs 5 pounds, making it a practical job-site quantity for framing and rough carpentry contractors working on concrete-slab or block-wall applications.
These masonry nails are suited for residential and light commercial construction where wood framing members must be anchored directly to concrete or masonry without anchors or powder-actuated fasteners. Common applications include attaching pressure-treated bottom plates to slab floors, fastening furring strips to block walls, and securing partition framing to poured-concrete foundations. They are driven with a hand hammer or pneumatic masonry hammer. For best results, drive nails at least 3 inches from the edge of masonry or block and ensure a minimum of 3/4 inch of penetration into the base material.
Designed as a standard 3d fluted masonry nail for use in concrete, cinder block, and similar masonry substrates where direct nail-fastening of wood framing or furring is required.
Masonry nails of this type are installed by carpenters and framing contractors using a heavy framing hammer or a hammer drill set to hammer-only mode. Always wear ANSI-rated safety glasses when driving hardened nails, as masonry spall and nail fragments can become projectiles. Drive each nail at least 3 inches from any edge of the masonry or block to prevent cracking, and ensure a minimum penetration of 3/4 inch into the base material for adequate holding strength. Do not attempt to re-drive bent nails — discard and replace.
