The MAZE NAILS CMH8Z112 is an 8d masonry sill plate nail measuring 2.5 inches in length, designed specifically to fasten pressure-treated wood sill plates to freshly poured concrete foundations. These square-cut nails are hot-dipped galvanized to ASTM A-153, meeting building code requirements for use with treated lumber. The hot-dip galvanizing process reduces the temper of the hardened nail, which means application must be made into green concrete for proper penetration and holding power. Each box contains 64 nails and weighs 1 pound. This product is compatible with new treated lumber chemistry.
CMH8Z112 nails are used in residential and light commercial construction where sill plates must be secured directly to concrete. The typical install scenario is a new foundation pour, with the nails driven while the concrete remains in its green state. A drilling hammer is recommended for best results. This is a standard rough-carpentry and concrete-work application performed by framers, general contractors, or experienced construction tradespeople.
Designed for attaching pressure-treated wood sill plates to newly poured concrete foundations. Compatible with new treated lumber. Intended for use while concrete is still in the green state.
Installation is typically performed by framers or general contractors during foundation sill plate work. A drilling hammer is recommended for driving these nails into green concrete. Because hot-dip galvanizing reduces nail temper, do not attempt to drive CMH8Z112 nails into fully cured concrete, as breakage or failed penetration may result. Follow applicable local building codes and framing specifications for sill plate fastener spacing and pattern.
