The MAZE NAILS CMH10530 is a hardened steel tapered masonry nail designed for fastening wood members directly to cinder block walls and fresh concrete. The blunt point and tapered shank work together to minimize spalling during penetration while delivering strong pull-out resistance — a meaningful advantage over standard wire masonry nails in high-stress anchoring applications. Each box contains 240 nails at a 10d designation and 3-inch length, weighing 5 pounds. These nails are driven by hand or with a powder-actuated tool and are suited for rough framing, furring strip attachment, and similar masonry anchoring work on residential and light commercial jobsites.
The CMH10530 is used wherever wood framing or trim components must be secured to masonry substrates. Common applications include attaching bottom plates to concrete slabs, fastening furring strips to block walls, and anchoring wood sleepers to fresh concrete. A minimum of 3/4 inch penetration into the masonry substrate is recommended for adequate holding strength. The 5-pound box quantity suits contractors working on multi-unit or larger-volume projects. Safety glasses are required when driving these nails — masonry fragments and nail chips can project during impact.
Designed for use in cinder block walls and fresh concrete masonry substrates where wood-to-masonry fastening is required.
Masonry nails are typically installed by general contractors, carpenters, or masons using a hammer or powder-actuated fastening tool. Always power down or de-energize adjacent systems before driving fasteners near mechanical, electrical, or plumbing rough-ins in masonry walls. Safety glasses must be worn during installation to protect against masonry spall and nail fragment projection. Follow applicable building code requirements for fastener spacing and embedment depth in your jurisdiction.
