The MATCO-NORCA zmbl4507 is a 45-degree elbow fitting made from malleable iron with a black finish, designed for threaded pipe assemblies in plumbing, mechanical, and fire protection systems. Both end connections are female threaded, allowing direct makeup to standard male-threaded pipe. Rated at 150 pounds pressure and conforming to ASTM A197/A197M, this fitting handles system temperatures up to 550 degrees F. It meets ANSI/ASME B16.3 dimensional standards and carries UL/FM listings, making it suitable for installations where listed components are required. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this fitting in low-pressure piping systems requiring a 45-degree directional change.
The zmbl4507 is used in residential and light commercial piping systems where a 45-degree change of direction is needed on a 1-1/2 inch threaded line. Common applications include natural gas distribution piping, steam condensate return lines, and general plumbing rough-in work. The black finish is standard for gas piping installations. Its UL/FM compliance also makes it appropriate for sprinkler and fire suppression system use where listed black iron fittings are specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-1/2 inch NPT threaded black iron pipe systems rated at 150 psi.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable local codes and IFGC or IPC requirements. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before cutting into any existing line or removing fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the service fluid before makeup. Do not over-tighten threaded connections, as malleable iron fittings can crack under excessive torque.
