The MATCO-NORCA ST8-015 is a 1-1/4 inch true union ball valve constructed from PVC Schedule 80 material. True union design allows the valve body to be removed from the line without disturbing the pipe connections on either side, making in-line service and replacement straightforward. The Schedule 80 PVC construction provides heavier wall thickness and greater pressure tolerance compared to Schedule 40, suited for chemical handling, irrigation, and industrial fluid systems. Plumbers and pipefitters install this valve where isolation, throttling, or frequent maintenance access is required in a non-metallic piping system.
This valve is appropriate for residential and light commercial plumbing, pool and spa equipment lines, chemical feed systems, and water treatment installations where PVC piping is specified. The true union end connections allow full removal of the valve body for cleaning or replacement without cutting into the pipe. It is commonly installed in systems carrying water, mild chemicals, and other fluids compatible with PVC at working temperatures and pressures within Schedule 80 ratings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation valve for 1-1/4 inch Schedule 80 PVC piping systems in plumbing, pool, spa, and chemical handling applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter following applicable IPC and local plumbing codes. Solvent-cement the union end connections to Schedule 80 PVC pipe using PVC primer and cement rated for Schedule 80 applications. Depressurize and drain the line fully before removing or servicing the valve. Do not exceed the pressure and temperature ratings of the Schedule 80 PVC material for the fluid being handled.
