The MATCO-NORCA pxcel03lf is a lead free brass 90-degree expansion elbow designed for F1960 cold expansion PEX piping systems. Sized at 0.5 inches, it is rated for a maximum working temperature of 180 degrees F at 100 psi, making it suitable for both hot and cold potable water distribution. The fitting is manufactured and tested in accordance with ASTM F1960 and F877, and it meets CSA B137.5 requirements. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting during new construction and retrofit projects where PEX-A tubing and cold expansion tooling are specified.
This elbow is suited for residential and light commercial potable water distribution systems where directional changes in 0.5-inch PEX-A lines are required. Cold expansion fittings require an expansion tool to enlarge the tubing end before the fitting is inserted, after which the tubing contracts to form a secure, leak-resistant joint. The F1960 cold expansion method is widely used in hydronic and domestic water applications for its robust connection reliability.
Designed for use with 0.5-inch PEX-A tubing in F1960 cold expansion potable water distribution systems rated for hot and cold service.
Installation requires a calibrated F1960 cold expansion tool sized for 0.5-inch PEX-A tubing. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before cutting into any existing line. Work must comply with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC requirements for potable water piping. Do not use this fitting with PEX-B or PEX-C crimp or clamp connection methods, as the F1960 expansion system is specific to PEX-A tubing.
