The MATCO-NORCA pc-05 is a ratcheting PVC pipe cutter designed for cutting pipe from 0.5 inches to 1.25 inches in diameter. Built with an aluminum handle and a stainless-steel blade, it delivers clean, burr-minimizing cuts on plastic pipe without requiring a saw or rotary cutter. The aluminum construction keeps the tool lightweight for extended use on the job, while the stainless-steel blade holds an edge through repeated cuts. This tool is suited for plumbers and pipefitters working with PVC, CPVC, and similar plastic pipe stock in residential and light commercial applications.
The pc-05 is intended for use on smaller-diameter pipe runs commonly found in residential plumbing, irrigation systems, and hydronic distribution. It handles pipe from 0.5 inches up to 1.25 inches, covering the sizes most frequently encountered in fixture supply lines, branch runs, and retrofit work. The tool is part of a broader line that includes the PC-08 for larger pipe up to 2 inches and the PC-05N economy version with an SK-5 high-carbon steel blade for budget-conscious applications.
Designed for use on PVC, CPVC, and similar plastic pipe from 0.5 inches to 1.25 inches in diameter. Compatible with replacement blades from the MATCO-NORCA PC pipe cutter line.
A licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter typically uses this cutter for field cuts during pipe installation or repair. Ensure the pipe is properly supported and free of internal pressure before cutting. Score and ratchet through the pipe in smooth, consistent strokes to produce a square cut end. Deburr and chamfer the cut end before solvent-welding or push-fitting to ensure a leak-free joint.
