The MATCO-NORCA mn-ftbu0605 is a forged steel threaded hex bushing used to reduce a female pipe thread from a larger nominal size to a smaller male pipe thread. The hex profile provides a flat-to-flat gripping surface for standard pipe wrenches or adjustable wrenches, making installation straightforward in tight spaces. Constructed from forged steel, this bushing delivers the wall thickness and thread integrity required for pressurized piping systems. Plumbers and pipefitters use this fitting when adapting between 1-1/4 inch female and 1 inch male threaded connections in both commercial and residential applications.
This hex bushing is suited for use in piping assemblies where a reduction between a 1-1/4 inch fitting or valve and a 1 inch threaded pipe or fitting is required. Typical applications include water supply lines, heating system piping, compressed air distribution, and general industrial pipe assemblies where forged steel is specified for durability and pressure integrity. It is installed inline wherever a threaded reducing connection is needed.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation forged steel hex bushing for standard NPT threaded piping systems requiring a 1-1/4 inch to 1 inch reduction.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes, including the IPC and IFGC where relevant. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before disassembly or fitting installation. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before make-up. Do not over-tighten; excessive force can crack fittings or damage mating threads.
