The MATCO-NORCA mn-ftbu0100 is a forged steel threaded hex bushing used to reduce a larger female pipe thread to a smaller male pipe thread. This fitting connects a 1/4-inch female thread to a 1/8-inch male thread and is manufactured from forged steel for strength and durability in pressurized piping systems. It is a standard pipe fitting used in plumbing, HVAC, gas, and mechanical systems where a threaded pipe size reduction is required. Plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians install this type of bushing during rough-in, service, and equipment installation work.
This hex bushing is suited for residential and light commercial applications where a threaded pipe reduction is needed at a valve, gauge port, fitting, or equipment connection. The hex outer profile allows installation and removal with a standard wrench. Common uses include reducing ports on gas valves, pressure gauge connections, manifold taps, and inline piping assemblies where thread size transitions are required.
Designed as a standard threaded pipe bushing for use in any system accepting 1/4-inch female NPT to 1/8-inch male NPT threaded fittings, including gas, water, and mechanical piping assemblies.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local mechanical and plumbing codes. Shut off and depressurize the system before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten forged steel fittings, as this can crack mating cast or softer fittings.
