The MATCO-NORCA ibcp06lf is a 1-1/4-inch brass insert coupling designed for joining barbed insert fittings in potable water and fluid-transfer piping systems. This insert-by-insert (IXI) configuration connects two barb-end tubing runs without threading, relying on a secure mechanical grip reinforced by clamps or crimp rings. The lead-free brass construction meets modern plumbing code requirements for drinking-water applications. Plumbers and pipefitters install this coupling during new construction, remodel work, and repair of flexible tubing systems including PEX, polyethylene, and similar insert-compatible tubing.
This coupling is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations where flexible tubing terminates or must be extended. The insert-by-insert design is commonly used in water supply lines, hydronic heating distribution piping, and irrigation feed lines. The 1-1/4-inch nominal size makes it appropriate for main distribution runs and larger branch lines. No soldering or solvent cement is required, which speeds up installation in tight spaces or retrofit work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-1/4-inch insert-compatible flexible tubing systems, including PEX and polyethylene tubing applications that accept standard barbed insert fittings.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before cutting or disconnecting any tubing. Slide the appropriate clamp or crimp ring onto each tube end before seating the fitting, and verify full insertion to the fitting shoulder before securing. Do not over-crimp or over-clamp, as deformation of the tubing can compromise the seal.
