The MATCO-NORCA crtf0603lf is a lead-free reducing tee fitting designed for copper piping systems used in heating applications. Cast from C89550 brass, it provides a durable, low-lead transition point where a 1/2-inch female threaded branch meets a 1-1/4-inch sweat run. End connections consist of two female soldered (sweat) ports on the run and one female threaded port on the branch outlet, making it suitable for transitioning between copper tubing and threaded pipe components. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians install this fitting when a branch takeoff with a threaded connection is required within a primary 1-1/4-inch copper loop or supply line.
This fitting is intended primarily for residential and light commercial heating system piping, where a reducing branch connection is needed to integrate a smaller threaded component into a copper distribution circuit. Typical installations include hydronic heating loops, boiler supply and return piping, and other closed-loop systems requiring a reliable sweat-to-thread transition. The lead-free construction meets regulatory requirements for potable and heating system applications. Overall length is 3.11 inches, and the fitting is sold in quantities of 6 per inner pack and 60 per master carton for stocking convenience.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-1/4-inch copper heating system piping where a 1/2-inch female threaded branch outlet is required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off and drain the affected piping circuit before cutting in the tee. Clean and flux all sweat connections thoroughly before soldering, and allow the fitting to cool completely before applying pressure. The female threaded branch port should be sealed with an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the service fluid and temperature.
