The MASTER LOCK 5KA-2002 is a commercial-grade laminated steel padlock engineered for high-security applications in industrial and commercial settings. The 2-inch-wide reinforced laminated steel body delivers exceptional strength and resistance to physical attack. A hardened boron alloy shackle measuring 1 inch tall and 3/8 inch in diameter provides superior cut resistance. Dual ball bearing locking keeps the shackle locked under heavy pry load. The non-rekeyable 4-pin W1 cylinder is designed to resist picking. Licensed trades and facilities maintenance personnel commonly deploy this padlock on equipment lockout points, gates, storage units, and access panels.
This padlock is suited for industrial, commercial, and institutional environments where keyed-alike access control is required across multiple lock points. The keyed-alike configuration allows multiple 5KA-2002 units to operate on the same key, simplifying key management on job sites, utility installations, and secured storage areas. It can also be ordered to match other Master Lock units fitted with the W1 cylinder, making it straightforward to integrate into an existing keyed-alike system without rekeying.
Keyed-alike pairing is compatible with other Master Lock padlocks fitted with the W1 cylinder. Multiple 5KA-2002 units can be ordered to share a single key across a common keyed-alike group.
Installation requires no tools beyond confirming shackle clearance at the intended hasp, latch, or chain link. Follow OSHA lockout/tagout procedures (29 CFR 1910.147) when using this padlock for energy-isolation applications. Inspect the shackle and cylinder for wear or damage before each use in safety-critical lockout applications. Do not force the shackle closed on an oversized or misaligned hasp, as this can deform the locking mechanism.
