The MARSHALLTOWN 15528 is a dual-end brick jointer designed for finishing mortar joints in masonry work. One end forms a 3/8 inch concave joint and the other forms a 1/2 inch concave joint, giving masons two of the most common joint profiles in a single tool. Constructed from high carbon steel, this jointer compacts mortar into the joint as it is drawn across the surface, pressing out voids and reducing moisture infiltration. It is a standard hand tool for brick, block, and stone installation on both residential and light commercial projects.
This jointer is suited for use on exterior brick veneer, CMU block walls, retaining walls, and any masonry application where a finished concave joint profile is specified. The dual-end design reduces the need to carry two separate tools on the job, making it practical for masons who work across varying joint widths on the same project. It is used by bricklayers, masonry contractors, and experienced tile and stone installers.
Designed as a standard masonry hand tool compatible with conventional brick, block, and stone mortar joint finishing where 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch concave joint profiles are required.
This tool is used by qualified masons during the jointing stage of masonry construction, typically after the mortar has reached thumbprint firmness. Draw the appropriate end along the mortar joint with consistent pressure to compact and shape the profile. Work horizontal joints before vertical joints per standard masonry practice. Follow applicable building codes and project specifications for joint type and timing.
