The MARSHALLTOWN 14617 is a broken-in hand float trowel designed for concrete and masonry finishing work. The magnesium blade measures 16 inches long by 3.125 inches wide and arrives pre-broken-in, meaning the blade has already been flexed and shaped to simulate a used tool. This eliminates the stiff feel of a brand-new blade and lets finishers get consistent results from the first pour. The DuraSoft handle provides a firm, comfortable grip during extended flatwork sessions. Concrete finishers and masons working residential slabs, sidewalks, and flatwork applications are the primary users of this tool.
This hand float trowel is suited for concrete flatwork finishing, including slabs, patios, sidewalks, driveways, and similar horizontal surfaces. The pre-broken-in blade reduces the break-in time typically required before a new trowel produces smooth, even strokes. It is appropriate for both residential and light commercial concrete finishing where a reliable hand float is needed to bring bleed water to the surface, embed aggregate, and prepare the slab for final troweling passes.
Designed as an OEM-style hand float trowel for concrete and masonry flatwork finishing applications. Alternate part number BI145D references the same tool.
This tool requires no installation. Concrete finishers should inspect the blade and handle connection before each use to confirm the trowel is secure. Keep the magnesium blade clean and dry after use to prevent oxidation buildup. Store in a dry location away from moisture to extend blade life.
