The MARSHALLTOWN 14422 is a tile grouting float designed for spreading and packing grout into tile joints on walls, floors, and countertops. The float features a pure gum rubber face bonded to a dense rubber pad, which is then cemented to an aluminum backing plate for rigidity and durability. The pad measures 9 inches by 4 inches with a 0.75-inch thickness. Beveled edges and rounded front corners allow the tool to work grout into joints cleanly and reduce the risk of catching on tile edges. Tile setters and flooring installers rely on this float for both residential and light commercial grouting applications.
This float is suited for standard tile grouting work across a range of tile types and joint widths. The rubber face compresses slightly under pressure, helping to fill joints evenly while minimizing scratching on tile surfaces. The aluminum backing plate keeps the pad flat and provides a firm base for consistent pressure across the work surface. It is commonly used in residential bathroom, kitchen, and floor tile installations as well as light commercial tile work.
Designed as a standard grouting float suitable for use with most tile types and grout formulations in residential and light commercial tile installation applications.
This tool is typically used by tile setters and flooring installers after tile adhesive has fully cured. Mix grout to manufacturer specifications before applying. Work grout diagonally across tile joints using firm, even pressure, then remove excess grout from the tile face with a damp sponge before it sets. Clean the float thoroughly after each use to prevent grout from hardening on the rubber face.
