The MARSHALLTOWN 13898 is a stainless steel concrete edger designed to form a clean, finished edge along the perimeter of a concrete slab. Measuring 6 inches by 4 inches with a 1/2-inch radius and a 5/8-inch lip, this tool creates a rounded edge profile that reduces chipping and cracking at slab ends. Straight ends provide consistent contact across the full tool width. The stainless steel construction resists corrosion and buildup from fresh concrete, making it a durable choice for repeated jobsite use. Concrete finishers and flatwork masons rely on this edger for residential and commercial slab work.
This edger is suited for flatwork applications including sidewalks, driveways, patios, garage slabs, and commercial concrete pads. It is used during the finishing stage, after initial screeding and floating, when the concrete has reached the right stiffness to hold a formed edge. The straight-end design makes it appropriate for standard linear slab edges. Concrete finishers typically pair this tool with a matching groover to complete the joint and edge profile on a poured slab.
Designed as an OEM-style concrete finishing tool suitable for standard flatwork edging applications on residential and commercial poured concrete slabs.
This tool is used by concrete finishers during the wet finishing stage of a pour. Work the edger along the inside of the form board with consistent forward-and-back strokes to develop the edge profile. Allow the concrete surface to reach proper set before beginning finish edging to avoid tearing the surface. Clean the tool thoroughly with water immediately after use to prevent concrete from hardening on the stainless steel surface.
