The MARS mars-85017 is a 3/4-inch liquid-tight connector used to terminate flexible liquid-tight conduit at enclosures, junction boxes, and electrical equipment. It provides a secure, moisture-resistant connection between the conduit end and the knockout opening, maintaining the integrity of the raceway system. Licensed electricians and HVAC technicians install this fitting when routing flexible conduit to motors, compressors, condensing units, and other equipment where vibration or movement is a factor. The connector is a standard trade fitting suited for both new construction and service replacement work.
This connector is appropriate for use in commercial and residential electrical installations where liquid-tight flexible metal or nonmetallic conduit terminates at an enclosure. Typical applications include HVAC equipment connections, motor terminations, control panel entries, and any raceway installation requiring a watertight seal at the fitting. Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 350 governing liquid-tight flexible metal conduit. De-energize all circuits and lock out the panel before beginning conduit termination work. Hand-tighten the connector into the knockout, then snug with pliers or a strap wrench — do not overtighten the body, as this may crack plastic locknuts or distort thin enclosure walls. Verify the conduit is fully seated and the sealing ring is properly engaged before restoring power.
