The MARS mars-84143 is a non-metallic, liquid-tight flexible conduit whip designed for final connections on HVAC equipment. It provides a moisture-resistant, flexible electrical pathway between a disconnect box and an air conditioning or heat pump unit. The conduit body is non-metallic, making it resistant to corrosion in outdoor and high-humidity environments. Rated for 3 conductors at 8 AWG wire, this whip handles the current demands of typical residential and light commercial condensing units. Licensed electricians and HVAC technicians install this component as the last segment of the power circuit before the equipment.
This whip is suited for outdoor condensing unit installations where a short, flexible connection run is required between the disconnect and the unit service entrance. The 3/4 inch diameter and 10 inch length make it appropriate for tight equipment clearances common in residential split-system installations. Its liquid-tight construction meets requirements for wet and damp locations as defined by the NEC. Three conductors at 8 AWG support standard single-phase compressor loads in the appropriate ampacity range.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or installation whip for residential and light commercial HVAC condensing units requiring a 3/4 inch liquid-tight non-metallic flexible conduit connection.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize and lock out the circuit at the main panel and disconnect before handling any wiring. Secure both ends of the whip with approved liquid-tight fittings to maintain the integrity of the moisture-resistant seal. Do not bend the conduit beyond its minimum bend radius or use it as a support for the equipment.
