The MARS mars-83925 is a 60-amp non-fused air conditioning disconnect with a built-in surge protective device (SPD) integrated directly into the pull-out block. Rated at 240 volts, this unit eliminates the need for a separate surge protection module by combining both functions into a single enclosure. The pull-out block houses the SPD, and LED indicators mounted behind a window in the enclosure provide a clear visual status of surge protection health without opening the unit. It is installed by licensed electricians servicing residential and light commercial HVAC equipment.
This disconnect is suited for residential and light commercial air conditioning and heat pump applications where equipment protection from transient voltage events is required at the disconnect point. The side-opening design provides access oriented for common condensing unit installations where front access may be limited. Because the SPD is integrated into the pull-out rather than added as an accessory, installation time and component count are reduced compared to a standard disconnect paired with an external surge module.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install disconnect for residential and light commercial air conditioning and heat pump systems requiring a 60-amp, 240-volt non-fused disconnect with integrated surge protection.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 440 for air conditioning and refrigerating equipment disconnects. Power must be shut off at the main panel before wiring the disconnect. Verify the circuit ampacity and conductor sizing match the 60A rating before completing the installation. Do not use this unit as a fused disconnect or substitute the pull-out with a non-MARS SPD block.
