The MARS 69029103599 is a black iron hex bushing used to reduce a 2-1/2 inch female pipe thread to a 1/2 inch male pipe thread. Hex bushings are standard fittings in gas piping, HVAC, and plumbing systems wherever a pipe or valve requires a concentric reduction without adding a coupling and nipple. The hex body provides wrench flats for secure installation and removal. This bushing is constructed in a black iron finish typical of gas-service fittings. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians use this fitting when connecting equipment with mismatched port sizes in low-pressure gas or fluid piping systems.
This hex bushing is suited for residential and light commercial applications involving gas supply lines, hydronic heating systems, and general plumbing piping. It is commonly installed at appliance connections, manifold ports, valve inlets, and equipment tees where a 2-1/2 inch pipe or fitting must transition down to a 1/2 inch line. The fitting accepts standard NPT threading on both the female and male ends.
Designed as a standard NPT hex bushing suitable for use with black iron gas piping systems and general plumbing piping where a 2-1/2 inch to 1/2 inch concentric reduction is required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or HVAC technician following applicable local codes and IFGC requirements for gas piping work. Shut off gas supply or isolate the fluid line and depressurize the system before beginning work. Apply thread sealant or pipe-thread tape rated for the service type to the male threads before assembly. Test all joints for leaks after returning the system to service.
