The MARS 12816 is a round dual run capacitor rated at 80 plus 7.5 microfarads (MFD) and 370 or 440 volts AC, designed as a direct replacement for failed run capacitors in residential and light commercial HVAC systems. Manufactured under the JARD brand, a MARS product line, this capacitor serves both the compressor and fan motor circuits simultaneously. It features 0.250 inch by 0.031 inch quick-connect terminals and is individually tested prior to leaving the factory. UL and CSA listed, it conforms to the EIA-456-A industry reliability standard for a rated service life of 60,000 hours. HVAC technicians use this part as a cost-effective OEM-style replacement across a wide range of equipment.
This capacitor is suited for residential split systems, package units, and light commercial HVAC equipment where a round dual run capacitor is required. Its dual rating of 370 or 440 VAC makes it compatible across a broad range of systems without stocking separate parts. When replacing, always match the MFD rating and VAC rating to the original unit - physical dimensions are secondary and subject to change. This is a standard field-replacement part carried by HVAC service technicians for compressor and condenser fan motor capacitor failures.

Installation Notes
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Always disconnect and lock out power to the unit before servicing capacitors - stored charge can be present even after power is removed; discharge the capacitor safely before handling. Match the MFD and VAC rating exactly to the original capacitor; do not substitute a lower VAC rating. Verify terminal orientation against the existing wiring before making connections.
