The MARKAL 81920 is a solid paint crayon designed for marking metal workpieces during annealing, heat-treating, and related high-temperature metalworking processes. Built on an oil-base formula, this round-tip marker lays down a white line that remains visible on raw metal surfaces before and during thermal processing. The solid construction means no cap to lose, no ink to dry out, and no bleed on porous or scaled surfaces. Fabricators, welders, pipefitters, and heat-treat technicians use this type of marker to identify parts, scribe processing sequences, and track workpieces through furnace cycles.
The 81920 is suited for use on steel, iron, and aluminum stock in fabrication shops, heat-treat operations, and pipe and structural work. The white, oil-base pigment provides contrast against bare metal, mill scale, and lightly oxidized surfaces. It is practical for job-lot marking before batch annealing or normalizing, as well as for post-weld identification prior to stress-relief cycles. The round tip allows consistent marking at any angle, including on curved or irregular surfaces common in pipe and structural fabrication.
Designed for use on steel, iron, and aluminum surfaces in annealing, heat-treating, fabrication, and related metalworking applications.
This marker is used by welders, pipefitters, fabricators, and heat-treat technicians for part identification and process marking. Ensure surfaces are free of heavy grease or oil before marking to achieve consistent adhesion. Follow all applicable shop safety procedures and heat-treat process standards when working near furnaces or open-flame equipment. Store the crayon away from excessive heat to prevent premature softening.
