The MARKAL 81022 is a hot surface paint stick marker rated for use on surfaces ranging from 2250 to 11000 degrees F (1070 to 5930 degrees C). It applies a solid paint mark directly to metals and other high-temperature materials, leaving a visible red mark that withstands extreme heat. Weighing just 0.035 pounds, it is a compact, single-use consumable carried by welders, foundry workers, steelyard personnel, and industrial maintenance technicians who need to mark heated stock before or during processing. No ink, no solvent — the pigment bonds to the hot surface on contact.
This marker is designed for high-heat industrial marking applications. It performs on coils, billets and bars, castings and pigs, ingots and plates, rails and beams, and glass. It is suited for steel mills, foundries, glass manufacturing lines, and similar environments where conventional markers or labels would fail instantly. One stick is included per package.
Designed for direct marking on hot metal and glass surfaces including coils, billets and bars, castings and pigs, ingots and plates, rails and beams, and glass substrates in high-temperature industrial environments.
This is a consumable marking product, not an installed component. Use appropriate PPE — heat-resistant gloves and face protection — when working near or contacting heated surfaces. Do not use near flammable gases or in confined spaces without proper ventilation. Store away from direct heat when not in use to prevent premature softening of the paint stick.
