The MARKAL 81021 is a solid paint stick marker engineered for marking hot metal and industrial surfaces at temperatures ranging from 2250 to 11000 degrees F (1070 to 5930 degrees C). The solid paint formula transfers a clear yellow mark directly onto heated workpieces, allowing identification, traceability, and quality control during high-temperature processing. Weighing just 0.035 pounds and measuring 4.63 inches in height with a 0.5-inch square profile, this compact stick is sized for easy handling in foundry, mill, and fabrication environments. It is used by metallurgical technicians, quality inspectors, and plant maintenance personnel working with heated metals and glass.
This paint stick is suited for high-temperature industrial applications where conventional markers fail. It is designed for direct application on coils, billets, bars, castings, pigs, ingots, plates, rails, beams, and glass surfaces while those materials are at elevated temperatures. The yellow color provides strong visual contrast on dark metal surfaces, making it practical for heat-treatment lines, rolling mills, foundries, and glass processing operations where surface marking must survive extreme thermal conditions.
Designed for use on coils, billets, bars, castings, pigs, ingots, plates, rails, beams, and glass surfaces in industrial high-temperature processing environments.
This product is applied by hand directly to hot surfaces and does not require installation tools or mechanical fastening. Personnel should wear appropriate PPE — including heat-resistant gloves and face protection — when marking surfaces at elevated temperatures. Follow your facility's hot-work safety procedures and applicable OSHA general industry standards before approaching heated workpieces. Do not apply to surfaces exceeding the rated temperature ceiling of 11000 degrees F.
