The MALLEABLE 510-310 is a 3-inch galvanized malleable iron 90-degree street elbow designed for threaded pipe systems in commercial and industrial piping applications. The fitting connects a male iron pipe (MIP) outlet to a female iron pipe (FIP) inlet, allowing directional changes in tight spaces where standard elbows cannot be used. Constructed from malleable iron with a zinc galvanized coating, it resists internal rust and corrosion across a wide service temperature range of -20 degrees F to 347 degrees F. Rated to 300 psi maximum pressure, it is suitable for a broad range of fluid and gas transport systems. Threaded ends comply with ASME B16.3 and ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 standards.
This street elbow is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial piping systems. Typical applications include potable water distribution, compressed air lines, fire sprinkler systems, refrigeration piping, and fuel lines handling gasoline, diesel, or alcohol. The 90-degree configuration makes it well suited for routing pipe along flat surfaces such as walls or ceilings where a close-quarter turn is required. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 3-inch threaded malleable iron pipe systems using standard NPT connections in potable water, compressed air, refrigeration, sprinkler, and fuel service lines.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the pipe system fully before removing or installing any fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly; do not overtighten, as malleable iron threads can be damaged by excessive torque. Verify that the service fluid and operating conditions are within the rated pressure and temperature limits before returning the system to service.
