The MAKITA GA4030 is a corded angle grinder designed for cutting, grinding, and surface prep work on metal, masonry, and similar materials. It runs on 120 volts at 6 amps and spins a 4-inch wheel at 11,000 RPM. The M10x1.5 spindle accepts standard 4-inch accessories. The metal gear housing and machined bevel gears are built for the wear typical of daily trade use. Labyrinth construction seals and protective zig-zag varnish seals keep dust and debris out of the motor and gear train. At 10.5 inches overall length, it stays maneuverable in tight work areas.
The GA4030 fits residential and light commercial jobsites where a compact, corded grinder is needed for weld cleanup, pipe prep, tile cutting, or deburring tasks. The two-position adjustable side handle accommodates both left- and right-handed operators and allows repositioning for overhead or horizontal cuts. The slide switch design allows quick on/off control without shifting grip. Licensed electricians, pipefitters, ironworkers, and general contractors are the primary installers and users of this tool class.
Accepts standard 4-inch grinding and cutting wheels with an M10x1.5 spindle thread. Includes a 4-inch wheel guard (125885-4), a 4-inch x 3/16-inch x 5/8-inch 24-grit grinding wheel (741402-B), inner flange (224377-1), lock nut (194608-1), lock nut wrench (782420-7), and side handle (153504-2).
Always disconnect from the power source before changing wheels or adjusting the wheel guard or side handle. Inspect the grinding wheel for cracks or damage before each use and never operate without the wheel guard in place. Ensure the spindle lock is fully disengaged before starting the tool. Follow applicable OSHA and ANSI B7.1 guidelines for abrasive wheel use and personal protective equipment requirements.
