The MAGNAFLUX 01-0130-71 is a wet method fluorescent magnetic particle powder used in magnetic particle inspection (MPI) to detect surface and near-surface discontinuities in ferromagnetic components. Sold in a 1 lb jar, these 14A-grade particles are engineered with an optimized range of particle sizes and shapes to maximize mobility within a suspension bath, allowing them to migrate quickly to indications while minimizing background fluorescence and particle clumping. The result is faster inspection cycles and higher confidence in results. Licensed NDT technicians and quality control personnel in aerospace, manufacturing, and industrial maintenance environments are the primary users of this product.
This powder is suited for wet method MPI applications in both shop and field settings. It performs in water-based or petroleum distillate (oil) carrier vehicles, making it compatible with a broad range of wet bath MPI equipment. Typical inspection targets include machined parts, welded assemblies, parts undergoing secondary processing, and critical in-service components. Inspectors use it to locate inclusions, seams, shrink cracks, tears, laps, flakes, and surface cracks on smooth and finished surfaces. The product meets major industry and NDT specification requirements including Aerospace, ASTM, and ISO 9934.
Designed for use in wet method magnetic particle inspection systems using water or petroleum distillate carrier vehicles. Suitable for inspecting ferromagnetic components across aerospace, manufacturing, and industrial in-service inspection applications where ASTM and ISO 9934 compliance is required.
Wet method magnetic particle inspection should be performed by qualified NDT Level I or Level II technicians following applicable procedure specifications. Prepare the suspension bath at the correct particle concentration per the governing inspection procedure before use. Ensure UV lamps are warmed up and calibrated to the required intensity before examining indications. Store the powder in a sealed container away from moisture to preserve particle integrity between uses.
