The MADISON M5920 is a side-mounted liquid level switch designed for demanding industrial and mechanical applications where high temperature, high pressure, or corrosive media are present. Built with a stainless steel body, the M5920 connects via a 1/2 inch threaded fitting and is rated for pressures up to 300 psi and temperatures up to 200 degrees F. The switch operates on a single-pole, single-throw (SPST) logic and accepts 120V ac or 240V ac input. A float specific gravity rating of 0.6 makes it suitable for low-density liquids. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals are the typical installers.
The M5920 is applied in systems handling high-temperature fluids or chemically aggressive media where standard plastic or brass float switches would degrade. Typical installations include boilers, chemical process tanks, cooling systems, and industrial fluid reservoirs where reliable level detection and long service life under harsh conditions are required. The stainless steel construction resists corrosion from a wide range of process fluids, making it a durable choice for both commercial and light industrial settings.
Designed as a side-mounted liquid level switch for tanks, vessels, and process equipment requiring a 1/2 inch threaded port, rated for high-temperature or corrosive fluid service.
Installation should be performed by a licensed technician or qualified tradesperson familiar with electrical and fluid system safety requirements. De-energize the circuit and relieve system pressure before removing or installing the switch. Apply appropriate thread sealant to the 1/2 inch fitting and verify the connection is pressure-tight before returning the system to service. Wiring should comply with applicable NEC requirements for the voltage and load class in use.
