The MADISON ELECTRIC MSB3G is a 3-gang PVC molded wall box engineered for electrical rough-in work where standard installation methods are impractical. Built from extra-thick polyvinyl chloride, the one-piece molded body delivers structural rigidity without any moving parts that can break or go missing on the job. Interior mounting screws are rated to 42 pounds and allow depth adjustment to accommodate tile, paneling, and other specialty wall finishes. All 6/32 device holes are factory-threaded, and built-in wire clamps are included. Licensed electricians rely on this box for both new construction and retrofit installations where consistent stud mounting is required.
The MSB3G is suited for residential and light commercial electrical installations. Its design addresses situations where swinging a hammer is not possible and where the final wall surface thickness is not yet determined at rough-in. Because the box always mounts directly to a stud, it provides a stable foundation regardless of wall treatment depth. The depth-adjustable mounting screws make it equally practical for standard drywall, ceramic tile, wood paneling, and similar finish materials, eliminating the need for extension rings in many scenarios.
Designed for new work and old work electrical installations where stud mounting is available. Mounts to wood or metal stud framing at 25-gauge or heavier. Accommodates standard 3-gang electrical devices and cover plates.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit at the panel and verify with a voltage tester before pulling or connecting any conductors. Secure the box to the stud before setting wall finish depth, then adjust mounting screw depth to bring the box face flush with the finished wall surface. Do not overtighten device screws beyond the threaded engagement of the 6/32 holes.
