The MACOMB GROUP 100720 is a molded butt fusion tee fitting manufactured from black PE4710 high-density polyethylene (HDPE). Sized for 8-inch IPS pipe, it carries an SDR 11 wall ratio and a maximum working pressure of 200 psi at 73.4 degrees F. The molded construction produces a uniform wall thickness of 0.784 inches across the fitting body, supporting consistent fusion joints when installed with standard butt fusion equipment. Licensed plumbers, pipeline contractors, and utility crews use this fitting in pressurized water distribution, gas distribution, and industrial piping systems where corrosion resistance and long service life are required.
This tee is suited for 8-inch IPS HDPE piping systems in both municipal and industrial applications. Typical installations include water main distribution, natural gas mains, and industrial process lines where a full-flow branch connection is needed. The PE4710 material designation indicates a higher-performance resin with improved slow-crack-growth resistance and hydrostatic design basis ratings. The fitting meets AWWA Standard C906 requirements, making it a standard choice for water utility work.
Designed for butt fusion joining with 8-inch IPS SDR 11 PE4710 HDPE pipe and fittings meeting ASTM D2513, ASTM D3261, and ASTM F2897 material standards. UPC Certified and PPI-TR4 Listed for use in systems conforming to AWWA Standard C906.
Butt fusion joining must be performed by a qualified fusion technician using equipment calibrated to the pipe and fitting manufacturer specifications. Power down or depressurize the line completely before cutting into any live system. Follow ASTM F2620 standard practice for butt fusion procedures; do not attempt heat fusion without proper facing, alignment, and temperature controls. Verify that all fusion equipment is clean and that pipe ends are squared and free of contamination before jointing.
