The MACLEAN POWER SYSTEMS F830138 is a Duckbill 68-DTS tree anchor kit rated for 1,100 pounds of holding capacity. It is designed to stabilize newly planted or at-risk trees by anchoring the root ball or trunk to the surrounding soil. The kit fits trees with trunk diameters from 3 to 6 inches and uses a driven earth anchor with a cable assembly to resist wind load and lateral movement. Arborists, landscapers, and utility line crews install this type of system as part of routine tree establishment and hazard-mitigation work.
This anchor kit is suited for residential and commercial landscape installations where post-planting tree support is required. Typical applications include street tree programs, municipal right-of-way plantings, utility corridor vegetation management, and new construction site landscaping. The 1,100-pound working load rating makes it appropriate for medium-caliper trees in moderate to high wind-exposure sites. The duckbill earth anchor design locks mechanically in the soil once driven and rotated, eliminating the need for excavation around the root zone.
Designed for use with trees measuring 3 to 6 inches in trunk diameter. Suitable as an OEM-style replacement or direct substitute for Duckbill 68-DTS series tree anchor assemblies in standard landscape and arboricultural anchoring applications.
Installation is performed by licensed arborists, landscape contractors, or utility vegetation crews using a standard drive steel and hammer or pneumatic driver to set the anchor at the appropriate depth and angle. Before installation, verify that no buried utilities, irrigation lines, or conduit are present in the drive path. Once driven to depth, rotate the anchor 90 degrees to engage the locking fluke in the soil before applying tension to the cable assembly. Follow all applicable local codes and manufacturer load guidelines when determining anchor spacing and cable tension for the specific tree and site conditions.
